Organising chairman Dato Pheng Chin Kiat said the main highlight for the three-day event will be the grand parade on the second day.There will be dragon and lion dances as well as a brass band, kompang troupe and Indian musical instruments, he said.Other activities include a Chinese chess competition, calligraphy demonstration and exhibition, Chinese painting, lantern-making contest and quiz, colouring contest, children singing contest and other cultural performances.“This year, we hope the turnout will be much bigger as the venue is the MPK2 field,” said Pheng at a press conference recently.Visitors will also be entertained by local and international artistes in an open air concert on the final day.
Star planet Sdn Bhd managing director Alan Foo said the concert, featuring artistes such as Yise, Wan Yin, Manhand and Eric Lim will be headlined by Hong Kong singer Hacken Lee.

The festival is open from 10.30am to 11.30pm from Sept 9 until Sept 11. Admission is free.
